Got a hint that a GRC position might be opening. What could I do to prepare for that in the next 3 to 6 months?

I current work doing a help desk position (we do a lot more than a normal tier 1) and I received a hint from my manager that a GRC position could open up during our one on one.

He gave me a microsoft one that I could go for, but not sure how advanced it was.

I do have an associates degree Cybersecurity however GRC is an area I am less familiar with.
