Just noticed something crazy while doing some work and data exports

I am an event planner getting the hell out of this field and transitioning to ideally doing technical writing or program management in this space; and I think I stumbled upon something wild.
A pretty big website that creates forms traditionally made of paper (let's see if you can figure out which I am talking about); exports submissions, and in doing so they export a every individually submitted person's IP address.
Given that I am new to this …
