Is security auditing a good career path?

I’m currently studying for the Sec+ and made it to the section on governance, risk, and compliance. After doing some research, I found that this section is best suited for people who are interested in auditing. I never hear much about what it’s like to be an auditor, so could someone give me any insight into what an auditing career consists of?
