When possible I choose not to make an account and instead purchase items without a log in. I am not sure how most websites store my information though. If it is a trusted site, I'm assuming they won't hang onto your info once the transaction has been processed.

I've considered putting in a alias when ordering online, but that doesn't sound like it would be very helpful since everything is on the billing address.
