How to maximize privacy in homes with Smart devices?

So I'm getting married (Yay!), but my partner isn't as concerned about online privacy as I am; so I am looking for a compromise with regards to Smart Home devices which is going to be connected to our WiFi.
The steps I have taken to maximize privacy:
1. Create a seperate Guest Wifi for the Smart Home devices, and all other appliances to shield it from the main network.
