On 15 sept '22 the European Commission presented a proposal for a Cyber Resilience Act.

It has four specific objectives:

1. security by design, secure development and security in the product life cycle
2. a cybersecurity framework 'facilitating compliance for hardware and software producers'
3. enhanced transparency of security properties of a product towards users
4. enable secure usage of products by businesses and consumers.
