Fitness Trackers and personal data? Is Amazfit secure? If not, are others?

Does anybody know if the Amazfit fitness band shares your data? Reading online I get conflicting reports.

If so, is there another cheap but more secure fitness band out there?

I'd like to easily monitor steps and heart rate, but have heard some of these are used for advertising tracking etc.
