At what point do u stop actively progressing your cybersecurity career, if at all?

To be clear, i’m not talking about trying to get a promotion, I meant progressing your own cybersecurity journey for your own benefit (doing home labs, studying for certifications, etc). I have recently been going for cert after cert while working full time and was curious at what point do u guys just stop caring about work and just do the simple 9-5 and log off?
