Back in the day, Kubernetes secrets had many engineers scratching their heads, like "Is this a joke"? Secrets are implemented in base64 encoding which is not an encryption system at all but a simple encoding. Of course, anybody could then decode it. I must admit I was one of those engineers. My opinion changed, but I can understand the feeling most people have with regard to these objects, however wrong this premise is.
