Work life balance in IR

Been offered a job in IR although the job sounds really interesting and would probably be a good step for the career however serious question. Does anyone have a family who works in IR and how that does that impact family/life balance? Large portion of people who I see working in IR seem to live and breathe it with hardly any aspect of any social side (which doesn’t seem to bother them).
