Cybersecurity Ventures predicts that women will represent 30 percent of the global cybersecurity workforce by 2025, increasing to 35 percent by 2031. That's up from 25 percent in 2022, 20 percent in 2019 and around 10 percent in 2013.

In 2024, women hold just 15 percent of chief information security officer positions at Fortune 500 companies. CISOs are pivotal as forces for cultural change, and can become role models who are able to attract more talent to the field.
