Will my Instagram direct messages still be readable once my account is deleted?

I’m aware that once the account is terminated, the chats will not show my username and icon. They’ll just be credited to Insagrammer.

However, I can find a clear answer on if the actual messages will still be readable. Will they be completely wiped and unreadable once the account is gone?

If not, is there a way I can have all my messages deleted without having to remove each one manually?
