Why is it so? Hashing vs Encryption

**DO NOT** encrypt passwords unless you’re doing something like a password manager. Passwords should not be stored in plaintext, and you should use hashing to manage them safely.

Like I could understand why hashing beneficial for password storage in db but then how come is it beneficial to encrypt in password manager??
