Privacy & Freedom in the Information Age www.reddit.com

Recently, I've installed [simplewall](https://github.com/henrypp/simplewall) on my main system and I couldn't help but notice that Avast has a whole bunch of executable files that are asking for internet access:

C:\program files\avast software\avast\aswtoolssvc.exe
C:\program files\avast software\avast\avastsvc.exe
C:\program files\avast software\avast\avastui.exe
C:\program files\avast software\avast\avemupdate.exe
C:\program files\avast software\avast\setup\instup.exe
C:\program files\common files\avast software\overseer\overseer.exe

I allowed all of them for the time being. But on the second thought, are all of these really required for the core functionality, such as getting updates?
