I’m curious of where (besides the obvious locations) is it recommended to use a web application firewall? I’m not familiar with the technology. My organization doesn’t really maintain any web applications, nor are any resources really internet-facing (unless there’s something that isn’t occurring to me as fitting that description).

What are some common use cases for the technology? What are some uncommon use cases that are frequently neglected but highly recommended?
