Today, it looks like the Matrix.org Foundation is [stepping back](https://matrix.org/blog/2023/11/06/future-of-synapse-dendrite/) from developing the Matrix servers.

They go on to claim that server development wasn't really helped by anybody outside the ([for-profit](https://element.io/copyright)) Element Corp, before saying they will no longer be developing any Matrix servers. If true, this is understandable, but the wording is odd:
