What would you guys say are some important privacy/security HARDWARE or even software measures to take?

I was doing some browsing today, as I stumbled upon an Awesome List about security gadgets and I found it very interesting. A ton of awesome sounding projects, but I'm sorta newbish when it comes to cybersecurity and what not.
