What motivated/triggered you to start being conscious about your privacy online?

There is a list of reasons why one should care about privacy in this sub. And we have seen a lot of people here, asking about how to protect themselves, ranging from which search engine, web browser etc to use.
I am curious about the reason that led you to start on this “privacy” journey in the first place.
