What is your perception of services that still use insecure protocols (HTTP, FTP, Telnet)? Would you use them and why / why not?

I still regularly find functional websites and SaaS Apps/Services that have obvious security issues:
1. They operate on HTTP instead of HTTPS
2. Use of expired HTTPS certificates or certs with wrong URL
3. Even exposing FTP and Telnet servers …
