What do you do to “have a finger on the pulse”?

What do people do to have a finger on the pulse with the industry in terms of social media/news sites/etc? I used to get a lot of my news around vulnerabilities, tool discussions and other misc. content from Twitter discussions and this subreddit. With the state of Twitter/X I have more or less abandoned it, and I’m back and forth regarding whether I need to replace it with something.
