What can I do to prevent an untrusted app from accessing any data on my phone?

Hey guys! I hope I am not getting too far off topic from this sub, but I wanted to ask in one of the bigger subs. I need to use an app that I don't trust to talk with some people. I don't want to give it access to permissions such as contacts, location, mic/camera and others, many of which are required to use the app.
