The majority of my accounts that have MFA enabled (through an authenticator app) come with recovery codes in case I lose my phone that has the authenticator app on it.

But there are a handful of accounts such as Paypal, Amazon, and Apple ID that force you to use MFA but they don't include any recovery codes.

Therefore I am worried about what would happen if I were to lose my phone or it dies or gets stolen, etc. Because …
