Hi all, how much of a concern is virus / malware to the forensic lab net admins out there? Magnet and other software all say not to run a virus scanner on the forensic machines (which makes some sense for data integrity - don’t want copied evidence quarantined or cleaned whilst processing).

Even if the image (.e01 or cellebrite download etc) does contain a virus / malware am I right in thinking it can’t be activated just by the imaging …
