Video game cheat malware analysis

Does anyone have experience performing analysis on video game cheats?
A lot of cheats now seem to also have malware capabilities and I would like to perform analysis on samples. However performing “dynamic analysis” doesn’t seem to be feasible as VMs and video games don’t usually cooperate from what I’ve researched so far.

Does anyone have insight into this topic?
