Using my name as a domain for email aliases, bad idea?

I'm planning on moving away from iCloud/Google and use a custom domain for emails. I already own the domain `firstnamelastname.com`. It seems like a stupid question, but is it a bad idea to use that for email aliases with services like Fastmail or SimpleLogin? (I assume it is)
