Tuition Reimbursement

So.... my employer is willing to cover up to 5K in tuition reimbursement, but I don't want to get more degrees (already got a masters in cyber). I asked him if I could use this money to cover some certifications, but unfortunately, the certification needs to come from an accredited institution.

I know that SANS is a accredited university, but each course is like 7K, and I don't want to pay 2K out of pocket.
