Survey on penetration testing tools, their uses, and impacts

As part of my undergraduate dissertation project, I am conducting a survey regarding the use of penetration testing tools. In particular, I am investigating the consequences of open source penetration testing tools, with my main research aims involving finding out the positive and negative impacts of these tools as well as who uses them.
