Should i self host for SearX?

yesterday i started to look into SearXng so i could maybe switch my search engine (i currently use StartPage) but i have no idea where to begin.

i know SearXng is self hosted or hosted by others, but i dont trust other people their instances.

you never know what they log, what they use the logs for or who owns it and what there goals are with your info.
