Shared Calendar/ drive? Talk to me like I know nothing

As it says talk to me like I know nothing because well I know nothing. I am looking for a shared calendar and drive similar to the Google calendar and drive so that my group can put our availability and planned events on as well as sharing pdfs etc between us.

The group has a single purelymail account (this means very little to any of us and was set up by someone else)
