Security engineer vs security analyst

I have two offers, one i would be an engineer of Tanium it seems like among a few other tools, and basically administrate and be the point of contact for running that and a few other endpoint solutions. Another offer would be as an analyst and actually using tanium, splunk, swimlane, etc and investigate alerts. Can anyone offer input if you've had experience with one or both and just your thoughts?
