Like many people I occasionally copy the contents of my laptop to an external drive (encrypted), so that if my laptop is ever stolen I won't lose all my data.

However there are also situations where I could loose both the laptop and the backup drive, for example if my house burns down. Therefore I am contemplating also keeping a copy of my data in a secure (hopefully) online storage platform, such as Proton Drive.
