Safeguards for parent's computer

My mom is in no way tech literate and I was out to lunch with her the other day and found out she's paying for monthly subscriptions to things like McAfee and Microsoft cause she got notifications on her computer that she needs them and is unaware that it's all scams. I told her to cancel all the subscriptions and that I would come over and set her computer up with what she actually needs.
