The differential meet-in-the-middle (MITM) attack is a new cryptanalysis technique proposed at Crypto 2023 recently. It led to greatly improved attacks on round-reduced SKINNY-128-384 and AES-256. In this paper, we revisit the differential MITM attack and propose several variants by absorbing techniques widely used in the classical differential attack.
