I am registering to vote in a new area. Since I am aware of online databases like 192.com - and numerous others - that quite literally list people's names and addresses, I am very keen to avoid this happening to me.
I spoke to my local council who told me they would give my data to credit agencies, and asked if I could register anonymously. They sent me an application form, but it requires evidence from a court and permission …
