TL;DR I've been working in cybersecurity for 4+ years as a threat intel analyst. I came in with a very weak background in the field, i.e. only basic understanding of computer operating systems, networking, etc. I am a quick learner though and have been educating myself, mostly on concepts, about these topics and have reached a point where I feel comfortable performing basic static analysis on malware samples, can write simplistic Yara rules to detect uncommon strings, etc.
