Questions about SOC Type 1 audit vs Type 2 audit

So I currently prepping for my Security+ exam and just finished going over SOC 2 reports, but I'm a bit confused on why any organization would do the Type 1 audit instead of the Type 2 audit. The Type 2 audit is clearly more in depth and will provide more credibility than a Type 1 audit which is entire purpose of getting the audit in the first place.
