I switched from iPhone to Samsung just over a year ago, so I am using Android OS. I use OpenBoard, Aurora Store, Firefox, Duckduckgo, and have turned off all of the Google personalization/ad tracking stuff in settings. I avoid using the Google parts whenever possible.

My question is: is avoiding things like Waze, google.com, etc. a waste of time if I am using an Android device? I know its open source, but I dont fully understand what that means in …
