Privacy over convinience? Is it worth it really?

I use Google for everything, even storage. I work across platforms and having things on everything without hassle saves a lot of time and mental work. After checking out this sub, I recently tried encrypting my date before storing in Google Drive but it's hassle as I can't decrypt on the go on phone and all except on my linux machine.
