Privacy friendly email

I know this question is asked constantly, but recently, I bought mysurname.net as it was available. I'm aware it isn't very private, but I was looking for something better than Google to host it since my parents also want to use it, and I can't really afford three ProtonMail accounts at the moment. What are my options for something that supports SMTP, doesn't read my inbox, and won't cost 150 AUD a year for three accounts?
