Privacy & Freedom in the Information Age www.reddit.com

I'm about to have a child in California. Is there anything I can do improve my child's chances at privacy in her life, and reduce her digital footprint?

For example, apparently california birth records are generally public records. Is it practical to somehow have it private or hidden? (When I got married in CA, I had the option of keeping my marriage records private, for example).
