Potential for AI-powered malware

I imagine some kind of malware that makes API requests to some AI service that would help it dynamically find loopholes in the attacked system. AI would act as "hacker", using initial malware to gain foothold in the attacked system.

I wonder if such thing was already encountered in the wild.
