I was thinking - while Openwrt is opensource and there is no hidden telemetry/backdoors i have some reservetions:
1. Openwrt is developed by enthusiasts and they have no responsability to the software. This means falling behind in patching vulnerabilities.
2. It is a lot harder to configure for people not in networking and the chance that you make your network even more vulnerable than stock is high.
