One billion Chinese citizens' data claimed to have been stolen

Reuters reports that one billion Chinese citizens had their personal information allegedly stolen from Shanghai police by a hacker dubbed "ChinaDan," which could be one of the largest data breaches ever if true. ChinaDan has been found selling more than 23 TB of stolen data for 10 bitcoin, or nearly $200,000, on Breach Forums last week. "In 2022, the Shanghai National Police (SHGA) database was leaked.
