Websites like vidaextra.com, elpais.com, marca.com and a truly ton more have started to charge users that do not want to be tracked by shady third-party data collectors and they seem to be very comfortable with that.

They are privatizing news behind a paywall. If you want to inform youself you either have to pay a small fee or straight up give up your data for anybody to use at will. Or, of course: leave the website.
