My Senior asked me to concentrate on vendor certs

I want to know Expert's Opinion.

My Senior is asking me to concentrate on vendor certs like AZ-500, sc-200, MS-500 etc as we are working as MSSP Security Operations and we are managing multiple customers with Trend Micro, Microsoft suite..

I am currently studying CISSP. He noticed that and asked me to concentrate on vendor related certs rather than wasting time on generic one like CISSP or CCSP. Is he right? Am I wasting my time ?
