My job is requiring me to install Hubstaff on my PC for time tracking…should I use a virtual machine?

I’ve never had a need for a VM before, but I’m heavily considering it. It just seems like a privacy nightmare to have something on my pc recording my every move. Am I right to be paranoid about this garbage policy? I’ve had one WFH job before but I was provided a laptop, needing to install something on my personal computer for time tracking makes me shudder though.
