Microsoft locked my account without giving clear reason, is demanding my phone number to unlock. Is there any way to bypass that without giving them my number?

I moved my Mojang account to a brand spanking new Microsoft account as they started demanding all players do recently. Now I tried to log in and play for the first time since I made the move and my account is locked "due to breaking their rules", never mind the whole account hasn't ever been used.

I definitely don't want to give Microsoft my phone number but seems like without it I might as well kiss my game goodbye. Anyone …
