Managed SOC/MDR/etc - Anyone ever work in one? How is it different from a company's personal SOC?

I imagine there is a lot more context switching, way more networks to look at...
How do you generate alerts? Everybody's networks? Individually?
Are analysts ASSIGNED to a customer?
Seems very complicated. I worked at a company's SOC - imagine it was quite different.
