Came across this story of a missing Mafia guy found via Google maps:
Either they were scouring maps in the area, or as they were quoted as saying on the Guardian:
"It's not as if we spend our days wading through Google Maps to find fugitives" "There were previous and long investigations which led us to Spain" "we were on a good path and Google Maps helping us confirm our investigations".
