Looking for a list of security vulnerability release by date for research

Not sure how to phrase it but I'm trying to correlate IPS event spikes with software vulnerability disclosures.

I think the best way to do this is if I could reference some master list of when a vulnerability became known that I could search by date range. Does such a site exist is there a better way to go about this? All respectful input welcome
